Stormwater Project

RCS provided design, permitting, and construction management services for this stormwater project serving a 3 square mile area. The primary goals of the project were to provide retrofit stormwater quality improvements, to provide stormwater reuse to meet a portion of the irrigation demand, and to meet peak discharge limitations.

The project was designed to NRCS, SFWMD, and FDOT standards. Design elements included: 7 new culverts, 15 control structures, a 109 acre stormwater irrigation reservoir located within a 341 acre stormwater pond, improved ditches, sluice gates, sheet piling, access roads/ramps, erosion control mats, and irrigation systems.

The irrigation pond was designed around existing wetlands within the 341 acre stormwater pond. Where needed, water control structures were designed in potentially affected wetlands to maintain the natural hydroperiod.

Specific services provided by RCS included contracting subconsultants for surveys, conducting site visits, stormwater modeling, preliminary design, final design, permitting, cost estimating, preparing bid documents, and full construction management services.
